We are Carlo and Elisabetta, together with our sons Paolo and Marco, we lived for 15 years in Vimercate, a village located about 20 Km northeast from Milan, in a region called Brianza.
While living there, we built up our dream to open up our own business in the middle of the beautiful countryside that is the Apennines, between Tuscany and Emilia Romagna.
In the summer of 2013, we therefore left the area of Milan and we returned to Elisabetta’s hometown, in Marradi (some 80 Km west from Florence) to a property called Figacciolo.
That is how our restaurant was born, the fulfillment of our dreams!
We started with the renovation of the stable and finished with the renovation of the whole area around the house of Agostino and Carmela, Elisabetta’s parents.
This beautiful and uncontaminated land, together with elements such as stone, wood, and fire, are the components that characterize our restaurant.
Simple and elementary elements that give to the construction a unique harmony, Il Casolare is well suited to the area, as if it has always been there.
Il Casolare is surrounded by nature, in the middle of fields, forest, chestnut trees and grapevines.
